Hello Everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Sam Jones. Firstly, I wanted to apologise for not speaking Italian. I thought it was better to write in English rather than attempting to use google translate. I hope that it is ok.
I am British but recently moved to Lausanne, Switzerland for work. I am a keen fish breeder, including Betta, Killfish, angelfish and much more. I recently had to sell all my fish due to the move but once settled here I want to start a few small breeding projects. As I now live much closer to Italy I thought it would be a good idea for me to sign up to the forum, with much help from Roberto (THANK YOU!).
When I was younger I used to work at my local fish shop and was an active member of the British Killifish Assocaition (BKA) and have kept a number of different Killi species in the past. My favourites are the Nothobranchius.
Just so you all know a bit more about me and the Killifish I have kept here is a list of the most of the species I have kept and bred in the past:
N. Eggersi
N. foerschi
N. korthausae
N. symoensi
F. gardneri gardneri
F. scheeli scheeli (my first killi)
Rivulus rubrolineatus
Rachovia hummelincki
Cynolebias whitei
Aphyosemion austral (Gold and Chocolate)
Aplocheilus lineatus
I joined the forum as I am looking for reliable sources of Killifish and Killifish eggs. Mainly Austrolebias or Simpsonichthys and some non-annuals like Fundulopanchax or Epiplatys that could tolerate some cooler temperatures for a cooler water system I am planning. I am also looking for Notho species/eggs especially rachovii or eggersi.
Any help the members of the AIK can provide me would be greatly appreciated. I am also hopeful that I can become involved in some discussions and provide information on some of the species I have kept in the past, to any one that is interested.
Thank you,
Sam
