The GENERAL PART of the CD corresponds to that of the previous CDs but it is updated to  year 2008. It deals with the biology of killifishes with special regard to the ecology, ethology, embryology  and problems of diapauses. The CD  includes a lot of computer animations of the embryonal development, diapauses and spawning patterns. In the part KEEPING AND BREEDING the methodology of keeping and breeding of killifishes in aquarium is discussed. The interactive databases of the ecological and ethological data and the List  of all genera and species of killifishes valid in year 2008 are also included.

In the SPECIAL PART find the description of 130 species, populations and forms of the african annuals – genera Nothobranchius, Pronothobranchius, Fundulosoma and Callopanchax including the most recently imported populations. The descriptions contain the morphological, ecological, ethological and keeping and breeding data. From cca 1000 photos more than 500 show the fishes and their natural habitats.

On this project have cooperated 21 collaborators from 10 countries.
